Cannes Film Festival 2011 Cannes Film Festival 2011 in France was closed Sunday 22 of May 2011 evening local time by giving the highest awards in The Tree of Life by Terrence Malick.

The Tree of Life starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. The film is a drama movie with surreal elements that are typical Malick made The Thin Red Line (1999) and The New World (2005). The film featuring the characters journey to find the meaning of life.
